I wanted you all to know that prior to Spring Break, I informed the Board and the EUSD Staff of my intent to retire at the conclusion of next school year, effective June 30, 2026. I decided to share my decision at this time to ensure the Board has ample opportunity to plan for a smooth and thoughtful transition in leadership. The Board will begin discussions regarding next steps in the coming months.
I am grateful to the Board and everyone in the organization for their dedication and support to our students and community, and look forward to working together through the remainder of this and the next school year as we continue to actualize the unlimited potential of all of our learners!
With that in mind, our staff continues to work towards providing fun and unique learning experiences for all of our students with a variety of activities in and out of school. We want our students to have access to real-world learning opportunities that support our students as they develop the skills outlined in our EUSD Learner Profile.
Mission Middle School and the Rancho Peñasquitos Branch Library are proudly showcasing the creative work of 27 students as part of the "Read! Imagine! Create!" program, which encourages students to connect with the complex text and express their personal interpretations. Their submissions, on display through May 1st, highlight the students' unique perspectives and artistic expressions. These works are being considered for cash prizes, with awards to be presented at a public ceremony. Congratulations to all the students for their dedication and creativity!
Here are this week’s updates and reminders:
2025-26 Before and After School Program (BASP) Interest Form Opening Soon! The Expanded Learning Program will open the 2025-26 Before and After School Program Interest Form on Monday, April 28, 2025. An email with details and a link to the form will be sent to all current EUSD families on April 28. The form will also be posted on our website beginning April 29, so families of incoming or new students may also express their interest. Please note that enrollment is not first-come, first-served. If interest exceeds space available, a lottery will be conducted. While the interest form will remain open throughout the 2025-26 school year, the first round of applications will be reviewed in May. The deadline for form submission to be considered for Round 1 is Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
