On March 15, 2025, the Mission Family lost one of our own, Tamara Whitney. For those who are not aware of who she was, Tamara was the longtime steward of Mission Television (MTV), the multiple award-winning show produced by the students of Mission Middle School for the students and staff of Mission Middle School. More than that, though, she was a great example of what we all strive for in the education profession: to make connections with those we educate as we prepare them for an uncertain future, and to help them get through this thing called “life”. Tamara and her memory will live on through those she has touched over the years: students, colleagues, family, and so many more who might not even realize that she affected them. Last Thursday, October 2, 2025, family, friends, and colleagues gathered one last time at Mission Middle School to tell stories and offer testimonials to the great person Tamara was as a memorial bench and tree were dedicated at the site of “Studio 7”, the place where Tamara helped all of the MTV “magic” happen. As future generations of Wildcats sit on that bench next to that tree, maybe they will contemplate teachers they have/had that have/had the same positive impact on them as Tamara had on those she taught. Tamara, you will be missed by so many, but you will never be forgotten … ❤️🥺🙏
